GlaxoSmithKline Set to Announce Human Genome Sciences Takeover

GlaxoSmithKline might announce today its acquisition of biotech firm Human Genome Sciences for about $2.8 billion, after three months of hostile pursuit, sources said. The companies reportedly are ironing out final details. GSK and HGS share rights to lupus drug Benlysta and are working on treatments for diabetes and heart disease.
